Roadrunners finish the season on a good note heading into playoffs

After dominating Johnson & Wales University by a final score of 20-7, the Roadrunners lacrosse club traveled to Montana for the final two regular games of the season against Great Falls, and arch-rival Montana State University.

The club would first take on Great Falls (9-3), where they would battle to a close 14-12 loss. After suffering this close loss, the Roadrunners would take on their rivals Montana State Bobcats (8-6) in their final game of the season. Over the past few seasons, the Roadrunners have had issues winning against this Bobcats squad.

The Roadrunners would be in a close battle with the Bobcats in the first quarter, where they would outscore their rivals 3 to 2, then followed that quarter up by outscoring the Bobcats again to go into the half with the 7-4 lead. Heading into the third quarter, the Bobcats would kick things up a notch, converting with four goals in the third quarter. However, the Roadrunners would be up to the task as they would also score four goals of their own to close out the third quarter with the 11-8 lead heading into the final frame.

In the final quarter, the Roadrunners would remain consistent with their scoring, by scoring four more goals in the quarter. The Bobcats would score three goals in the final quarter, but it would not be enough as the Roadrunners would walk with the 15-11 victory.

The playoffs for the RMLC have yet to be announced, but the Roadrunners will have plenty of motivation after defeating the Bobcats, a team who they have struggled to defeat for years now.
