Metrosphere is an arts, literary and culture magazine that professionally showcases the creative work of students and alumni of Metropolitan State University of Denver. In print since 1984, Metrosphere published every April for 30 years, and then expanded to three editions annually in 2014. Now, this award-winning publication is taking a big step up, with plans to publish six editions in 2016-2017. The magazine encourages students and alumni to submit their poetry, fiction, photography and painting, etc., throughout the year. Submissions will be judged for the April edition, the release of which is typically celebrated at a gala held at the Center for Visual Art.
In 2007 and 2011, Metrosphere added the Associated Collegiate Press’ prestigious Pacemaker Award to its record of recognition and achievement. The Society of Professional Journalists’ Region 9 gave the magazine its 2015 Mark of Excellence award as Best Student Magazine in April 2016.
The magazine is supported by Met Media, which exists to provide a comprehensive, multimedia learning experience for MSU Denver students and bring news and information to the Auraria Campus.
